24 hours. 300 songs. And a metric ton of ROCK!

On January 30, 2010, we celebrated our 5th Anniversary with a fundraiser like no other. Artistic Director Darren Evans tested his endurance, sanity, and carpal tunnel syndrome playing ROCK BAND non-stop for an entire day!  Doors opened at 6:30pm, then it all kicked off at 7:00pm when Band on Fire (Lynn Wilcott: vocals, Emily Dahl: bass, Mike Kuczewski: drums, and Darren on guitar) hit the stage. The assembled crowd was treated to much rocking while enjoying mouthwatering Redbones BBQ, delicious sandwiches and apps from Not Your Average Joe's, dessert from The Cheesecake Factory, and craft brews from Cape Cod Brewing Co. and Mercury Brewing Co.

But this was not just a party to sit and watch! Attendees requested songs, dueled Darren on guitar, and came on stage to play in the band. We had loads of folks step on stage to take their turn as rock gods and goddesses, and a good time was had by all. And while we were rocking, a whole host of door prizes and raffle items were given out.

At midnight, the doors closed and the real marathon began: Darren rocked away the next 19 hours - playing guitar, bass, drums and singing (sometimes more than one at a time). And while he was alone most of that time, the entire thing was streamed live online! With the help and encouragement of a boatload of great supporters texting, emailing, and Facebooking, he made it the full 24 hours.

When all was said and done, through the generosity of all of our amazing sponsors and donors, we beat our fundraising goal for the event by 20%! All told, it was a once-in-a-lifetime event that only Theatre on Fire could pull off. Thanks so much to everyone who donated time, money, food, and good vibes to make it happen! We love you!

Special thanks go out to Band on Fire for bringing the funk and the noise. Event Manager Greg Farber and Raffle Manager Rina Farber-Mazor were indispenable. And none if it would have been possible without the incredible assistance of Brooke DiGiovanni Evans. Thanks also to our volunteer crew and, of course, to everyone who sponsored and came to the event, making it a truly memorable night!
